For the best part of four years, Belfast’s Naomi Hamilton aka Jealous Of The Birds has been toeing the line between the confusion and confidence of youth, developing a vocabulary as a songwriter rich in empathy and generosity. She has developed a style equal parts autobiographical and whimsical. It’s a voice and sound subsequently fleshed out over the past few years.
Her upcoming EP WISDOM TEETH follows the successful summer EP THE MOTHS OF WHAT I WANT WILL EAT ME IN MY SLEEP, which featured singles “Plastic Skeletons” and “Russian Doll”. “Plastic Skeletons” was added to rotation on Double J and has been featured internationally on NPR’s ‘All Songs Considered’, XPN’s ‘Gotta Hear Song Of The Week’, and BBC Radio 1’s ‘Tune Of The Week’. Hamilton released her first EP CAPRICORN while studying English and Creative Writing at Queen’s University in Belfast. Then following the release of her next venture PARMA VIOLETS, came a serendipitous SXSW performance that same year that ultimately led to the connection with Canvasback Music. Much of her lyrics come from personal notebooks of poetry or grow out of literary references from her reading collection.
The PR Files are proud to be working on Jealous Of The Birds’ Australian PR in conjunction with Canvasback Music.
