For the past two years, Nils Frahm had been building a brand new studio in Berlin to make his seventh studio album titled ALL MELODY, which was premiered via NPR.
His new album is born out of the freedom that his new environment provided, allowing Nils to explore without any restrictions. Despite being confined within the majestic four walls of the Funkhaus, buried deep in its reverb chambers, or in an old dry well in Mallorca, ALL MELODY is, in fact, proof that music is limitless, timeless, and reflects that of Nils’ own capabilities. From a boy’s dream to resetting the parameters of music itself.

Transcendent of labels and trends, crafting her art with honesty and fearlessness, Marét has been calling us since her debut in 2018. She is fearless in her creation; forging her pop songs in the fires of ancestry and poetry. Soaring melodies, lush harmonies, chest-pounding beats and her mesmerising vocals take us deep within to a yearning we didn’t know we had. Marét brings her new music to the world at a time when all of us need a wave of hope. She is here to soothe us; to cradle our hearts, to unburden our minds.
Aligning lyrics and grooves is natural for Marét. Her debut release Vertigo dropped with vigour and a soul infused sound, followed by Perfectly Imperfect with its sugar sweet vocals and self empowerment message. Her self-titled debut EP landed in early 2019 and gave us a taste of all the places she can and will take us to. Valentina Brave’s vintage rock, murder ballads and soul anthems come directly from the underworld. These are transformative songs that will spit you out on the other side of a journey that may begin in suffering, but ends in melodic freedom. Brave makes vulnerability her ally, a powerful medicine in these times. An artist worth witnessing, Brave recently shared the stage with global luminaires Michael Franti, Jackson Browne and Juanes at Byron Bay Blues & Roots Festival when Franti invited her to perform for his main stage closing set. With overwhelming response, it was a landmark moment in the evolution of powerhouse vocalist, improviser and world class artist.
Her EP WILDFLOWER, featuring hit track “I Met A Man”, was given it’s first play by Women In Pop and a video premiere from Music Feeds. Produced by ARIA nominated musician Danielle Caruana (Mama Kin), the EP, as the title suggests, is indicative of what grows out of human heartache. Sydney-based rock band Decapitators have spent the last year since their formation forging a cult-like following in the dingier parts of Sydney’s Inner West for their dark and harmonically intense brand of rock. Their debut single “Crystal Math” is a dynamic dancy guitar onslaught, which showcases vocalist Ivan Wowk in a rhythmic chanting chorus and echoing guitar layers; a track self-described as “dynamic, eerie, playfully dissonant and shrouded in breathy mystery.” With a sound reminiscent of UK garage rock bands of the 80s and 90s, Decapitators’ first official track sees them bursting onto Sydney’s rock scene with a fervour. The track is accompanied by a hypnotic, grungy, Donnie Darko-inspired music video that perfectly encapsulates the stormy sentiment of the song.
Decapitators is the product of a year-long trip to Mexico by two South Coast NSW friends. With no intentions for the music beyond writing songs on cheap guitars to pass the time, the jams quickly became anthems of the trip, and subsequently sentimental souvenirs. After some years of reprising these tunes every weekend upon reunion, Ivan (rhythm guitar and lead vocals) and Thorne (bass and backup vocals) began to dream of audiences beyond their immediate drunken social circles, and recruited two friends, one old (Matt on lead guitar and backing vocals) and one new (Tom on drums) to bolster the ranks.

Wagons stay atop their own tidal wave of hard-hitting, outlaw inspired, swamp rock madness, still pulsing and stomping together as a joint force, with singer Henry Wagons at the helm. Beau Lightning, who previous released songs under his given name ELI, is inspired by California daze, desert surrounding the city of sin, cowboys, the moon landing and the alter ego in which Beau Lightning resides.
His debut single '“Last Night” was written and recorded entirely on his own after being given the opportunity to live in a recording on his own after being given the opportunity to live in a recording studio that a close friend and old work colleague built in his back yard. “Last Night” is the result of tinkering and experimentation, a first attempt at using real studio equipment. Wellington-based producer and performer, Estère gives you a side of music you’ve never heard before. Estère’s production paints a canvas of unique juxtaposition which perfectly fits her self-made genre ‘Electric Blue Witch-Hop’.
Her 2018 two part album MY DESIGN, ON OTHERS’ LIVES recorded at her home studio in her 40’s Wellington villa explores the meaty side of electronic music. With succulent bass and weighty drums then contrasting with the warm ethereal side of pop and jazz melodies, Estère will leave you wanting more.
Devoted to break the mould and escape popular music’s limited scope of ‘personal dilemma’, the albums conjure meaningful narratives about kids obsessed with technology, displaced refugees, calling out to colonisation and controlling urges (to name a few).
The PR Files are proud to work with Estère and introducing her to the Australian music scene.

Saint Sister is the Northern Irish eerie-folk creation of Morgan Macintyre and Gemma Doherty. A month after forming the duo were asked to perform on TG4 (Irish national TV), and opened Whelan’s for Arcade Fire’s Will Butler. Since their formation, the band have toured extensively throughout Europe. They made their US debut in March 2016 with multiple showcases at SXSW and have had notable appearances at numerous festivals including BBC Introducing at Glastonbury, Latitude, Electric Picnic, Longitude, The Great Escape, Reeperbahn Festival and Eurosonic.
2018 has already seen the band tour Sweden, Ireland and the UK. The band returned to the USA for their first headline shows in NYC, selling out National Sawdust in Brooklyn and adding another at Rockwood Music Hall. They returned to SXSW for the second time and were picked by NPR as one of the highlights of the festival.
Saint Sister’s latest single “Twin Peaks” was released earlier this year from their forthcoming album Shape of Silence. “Twin Peaks” explores a more direct approach to their songwriting. Although touring has at times taken precedence over recorded output, the band have firmly established themselves as one of the best regarded live acts in Ireland, a sentiment that is now being echoed across the pond. The duo are set to embark in their 32 date world tour for Shape of Silence in September this year.

The Griswolds returned this year with their explosive sophomore album ‘High Times For Low Lives’. The album presents a sonic evolution for the band, yet is still fuelled with the sun-soaked Griswolds’ shimmer that fans have come to know and love.
The band — singer Chris Whitehall, guitarist/keyboardist Daniel Duque-Perez, bassist Tim John and drummer Lachlan West — teamed up with Grammy Award-winning producer Andrew Dawson (Kanye West, Sleigh Bells, fun. and more) at his Los Angeles studio and strikingly evolved their musical personality. Their relentlessly catchy tropical indie-rock is now draped in swathes of funk, RnB, hip-hop and electro, with echoes of Michael Jackson, The Weeknd, Prince, Tame Impala and Kendrick Lamar abounding in its dancefloor-ready pop.
This is all following the band’s 2014 album ‘Be Impressive’ which generated a staggering 30 million streams, debuted #2 on the Billboard New Alternative Charts, #5 on the iTunes Alternative Charts, lead single “Beware the Dog” becoming Rolling Stone Single of the Year 2014
